Carrie Oxford passed away at 77 on Monday, February 3, 2014 at her home in Salina, KS after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in 1936 in Lawrence Co. Alabama, to Julius and Ruby Standridge.

After college she joined the Air Force as a dental assistant. While in the Air Force, she met and married Albert Oxford in 1956. She left the Air Force to raise the couples 4 girls.

After Alberts career in the Air Force ended with his retirement, the family made their home in Sublette, KS. After their daughters were raised, Carrie returned to the work force, eventually retiring from the Haskell Co. State Bank in Sublette in 1993.

Carrie is preceded in death by her husband, Albert and parents Julius and Ruby Standridge.

She is survived by -
Four daughters: Sheila Ellsaesser and husband Rick
Lea Oxford
Ramona Shean and husband David
Teresa Couse
7 grandchildren
10 great-grandchildren

Carrie selflessly has bequeathed her body to the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine in hopes of helping with cancer research.

There will not be a public service or memorials.
