Lavera F. Willey, 88, of N. Myrtle Beach, SC passed away Feb. 3 2014 in Topeka, KS. Miss Willey was born Dec. 14 1925 at Solomon, KS in the home of her parents, John W. Willey, Sr. and Anna (Lamka) Willey.

She was a 1943 graduate Solomon High School and then from the Wichita Business College. Lavera was employed by Remington Rand Typewriter Co. and its successors, for over 35 yrs., before retiring in 1981 as Office Manager of the Kansas City regional office. Traveling and bowling were her favorite pastimes. Her travels covered all of the 50 states, Canada, Mexico and many countries in Europe and Asia. She was a lifetime bowler and was still bowling shortly before her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John W., Jr. and Ralph and twin sister Laveda.

She is survived by a niece and nephews.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Prairie Mound Cemetery in Solomon with Reverend Mik King presiding.

There will be no visitation.
