Ann Owens, 74, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 5:55 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2014 while in the company of family members, at her home. She was born on her parents farm in Mitchell County, Kansas on November 22, 1939, daughter of Ruth Margaret (Woody) and Talmadge Esbern Leach.
Ann attended and graduated from Lincoln, Kansas schools. She attended 2 years at McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas. She also attended the EMS School at Memorial Hospital, McPherson, Kansas, graduating in 1982.
Ann was a member of New Hope Evangelical Church McPherson.
Through the years Ann was a homemaker, was a paramedic for Memorial Hospital from 1981-1994, and was also a realtor for Ellene McKean for 4 years, retiring in 2003.
Ann was a member of the Noon Kiwanis Club, McPherson, Kansas, the National Realtors Association, the Kansas Realtors Association and the McPherson Realtors Association, and the Kansas EMS Association.
Ruth Ann Leach was united in marriage to Truman R. Owens on February 28, 1959 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Truman died on August 2, 2011.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Esbern and Ruth Leach; her husband Truman Owens; a brother, Dan Leach; nephew, Troy Leach.
The memorial service will be held at New Hope Evangelical Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16th, 2014 with Pastor Jim Keil officiating.
Private family Inurnment of cremated remains will be held at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
