Francis Duane Toepfer, 82 of Solomon passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his home. He was born July 1, 1931 in Salina, the son of Hubert and Leta (Jones) Toepfer.

He grew to manhood in the Solomon Community and attended the Solomon schools. He was a member of rifle squad in the Army National Guard. He was an avid marksman and enjoyed swimming at the Solomon pool. He worked for the Geological Survey Company in Salina before later working maintenance at Marymount College of Kansas. He was a member of the Solomon City Lodge # 105 AF&AM; Fraternity Chapter #133 OES; and Smokey Hill Genealogical Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jerald and Paul Toepfer.

Graveside Services for Francis will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday January 15 at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Solomon with Masonic and Military Honors.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. Tuesday until 8 P.M. and 9 A.M. Wednesday until service time.

Memorials for Francis may be made out to the Solomon Boy Scouts Troop 80 and may be sent in care to the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, P.O. box 308, Solomon, Kansas 67480.
