Obituary

Mary Ellen Tector, 70, of Peabody, Kansas, passed away at 6:15 a.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2014 peacefully, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion, Kansas.

Mary was born in Hillsboro, Kansas on November 18, 1943, a daughter of Ellen (Kasper) and Fred Winter.

Mary attended the Lehigh schools, Lehigh, Kansas.

Mary was a member of Galva United Methodist Church Galva, KS

Mary was a homemaker.

Mary enjoyed collecting knickknacks, all the many camping trips with her family and loved her children and grandchildren very much.

Mary Ellen Winter was united in marriage to Larry Lee Tector on May 9, 1959 at Newton, Kansas.

Surviving family members include her children, Tammy Schmidt and her husband Dennis, of Galva, Kansas and Jeffrey Tector and his wife Lori, of Galva, Kansas; her sisters, Virginia Schulz, of McPherson, Kansas, Lois Lake, of Derby, Kansas and Betty Brewer, of McPherson, Kansas; her grandchildren, Danielle Schmidt, of Galva, Kansas, Ryan Schmidt and his wife Kelli, of Wichita, Kansas, and Kalisha Tector, of Galva, Kansas; 1 great-grandson Ryker Masen Sloup, of Galva, Kansas and 1 great-granddaughter Kennadi Renee Schmidt on the way!!!

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Wilma Schroeder and Joyce Gooding; and brother Glenn Winter.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Galva United Methodist Church, Galva, Kansas.

Funeral service will be at Galva United Methodist Church, Galva, Kansas, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2014 with Reverend Sharlan Graber officiating.

The final resting place will be at the Lehigh Mennonite Cemetery, Kansas.
