Marion Jack George, 93, of Clay Center, passed away December 13, 2013.

He was born September 11, 1920 in Lycon, CO, the son of Robert and W (Gefellers) George.

Jack was raised in Colorado before moving to Bentley, KS with his family. He graduated from Bentley High School in 1940. Jack married Ellen Beckner on June 27, 1942. He served in the US Army during WWII. Jack and Ellen moved to Clay Center following the war and Jack farmed in the Morganville area. Jack was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher. They moved to Manhattan in 2001 and were members of the University Christian Church.

Ellen preceded him in death on September 17, 2010. He is also preceded in death by a sister.

Survivors include:

Son: Robert and wife Barbara George, Kansas City, MO
Daughters: Carmal George, Manhattan, KS; Elizabeth and husband Ross Monks, Huntersville, NC
Eight grandchildren
12 great-grandchildren

Memorial Services will be Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the University Christian Church in Manhattan with Pastor David Pape officiating.

Memorials can be made to Clay Center Christian Church or Manhattan Christian College c/o the funeral home.
