Raymond Martinez passed away serenely under the loving care of his family, as well as his wonderful nurses at Dignity Care Home on December 2nd, 2013.
Ray was born on April 10th, 1932 in Salina, Kansas, where he resided until his death. He has inspired many with his aptitude for construction work, his occupation until retiring as one of the companys supervisors at the age of 65.
After retirement, Ray spent most of his days handcrafting beautiful woodwork, fishing, taking occasional road trips to nearby casinos, spending quality time with his beloved canine Sancho and most notably, fulfilling his duties as a devoted grandfather.
Ray is survived by his children Jesse (Jolene) of Salina, Ray of Ukiah, California and daughter Anna of Salina. Granddaughters Amara Giersch and Kailey Martinez.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina with Fr. Gale Hammerschmidt as celebrant.
Private inurnment will be at a later date.
The family suggests memorials to Sacred Heart Cathedral or the Salina Animal Shelter.
