Joseph R. Knox, 87, of Junction City, KS passed away December 2, 2013 at the Geary Community Hospital.

He was born on July 17, 1926 in St. Louis, MO to James Thomas and Anna Levica Bryan Knox.

Joseph went to school in the Booneville, MO area. He served with the Army in World War II from 1944 till 1946, and he later re-enlisted in the Army. After his discharge from the Army in 1948, he went to work as a Civil Service employee on Fort Riley. He retired from Civil Service employment in 1989.

He was married to Dorothy Lynn on November 13, 1948 in Junction City. To them, six children were born: Donald, Steven, Kevin, Douglas, David and Gregory. Joseph was a member of the First Baptist Church of Junction City, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Grandchildren: David, Jr. of Wichita, KS, Rachel of Wichita, KS, Christopher of New York, NY, Douglas of Glen Elder, KS, Chelsea of Chapman, KS, Nicole of Abilene, KS
Many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy on January 12, 2010, his parents, sons, Donald Sr., and Douglas, and an infant son, Kevin; a grandson Joshua; a brother Harold Knox and one sister Joyce Hancock-Gardner.

Funeral Services will be held at the Londeen Funeral Chapel, 206 W. Fifth in Chapman, KS on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor James Callaway officiating.

Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Service beginning at 9:00 A.M.

The family has requested memorials be given to the First Baptist Church, 624 N. Jefferson St. in Junction City.
