Kay Bishop, 76, of Salina passed away on November 26, 2013. She will always be remembered as a friend and mom to everyone she met.
Kay was born on January 29, 1937 in Salina to Clyde and Nellie Kellams.
She took pride on being born on Kansas Day. She was a Salina High graduate Class of 1955. She spent her years working as a homemaker, cashier and was a co-owner of Dons Motorcycle Service. With 40 plus years serving the Boy Scouts of America, Kay also spent summers at Northern Tier High Adventure camp, working in the trading post. As an avid motorcycle enthusiast, Kay was a lifetime member of the American Motorcyclist Association. Her favorite pastimes included scrap-booking, sewing, baking, playing scrabble and spending time with those she loved.
Her parents precede her in death.
Survived by her husband Don Bishop; three sons: Don Bishop II -Salina, Tom (Rena)- Salina, and Jim (Leslie)- Salina; eight grandchildren: JoAnn, Matthew, Scott, Donald, Steven, Nicole, Ashlee, and Evan; seven great-grandchildren; sister Veryl Leach (Jim); sister-in-law Carolyn Robinett (Jim); six nephews and five nieces; and numerous other family.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Family will receive friends from 5-6pm.
Funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, December 2, 2013 at Ryans Mortuary.
Graveside service will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
