Eldrick H. Grummert, 88, of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 in Superior, Nebraska.

He was born May 8, 1925 in Superior, NE, the son of John and Frieda (Warneking) Grummert.

Eldrick graduated from Nelson High School. He served during WWII in the US Army.

He married Elsie Rauscher on July 14, 1946 in Nelson, NE. They farmed for over 50 years, and he also raised and sold certified seed wheat for 35 years. He received the Nebraska Pioneer Award of continuous farming the family farm for 100 years.

He was a 4-H leader and was honored the first male 4-H leader recipient award in 1983. He earned the FFA State Farmers Award; and he also received the outstanding citizenship award in District 10 of the American Legion in 1995.

He was preceded in death by this parents; son Craig on July 7, 2007; brothers Galen and an infant.

He is survived by:
Wife: Elsie of Hastings, Nebraska
Brother: Milvern and wife Aileen of Glenvil, Nebraska
Granddaughter: Cindy Luft and husband Jerry
Three great grandchildren

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Clergy Irvin Schleufer officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be held at Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, NE

Visitation will be from 1-8 pm with the family present to greet friends from 3-4 pm Sunday, November 17, 2013. There will also be visitation Monday, November 18, 2013 from 9 am until the service.

Memorials can be made in care of the family.
