Dean R. Chambers, 90, of Salina, died Tuesday, Nov 12, 2013.

He was born June 12, 1923 in Ellis, the son of John and Helen (Disney) Chambers.

He owned and operated Deans Appliance-Heating and Air Conditioning for over thirty-five years. After a brief retirement he then worked for Systems 4 Inc as a bookkeeper and job estimator.

Dean served as sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II. He earned the Distinguished Unit Badge and Air Medal With One Oak Leaf Cluster. He served in the Normandy Invasion, Northern France, The Rhineland, The Ardennes, and in Central Europe.

He was a member of St Elizabeths Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Wife: Remigia
Son: Blaine (Mardella) Chambers of Salina
Daughter: Claudia Stein of Plano, TX
Grandchildren: Jamie Phillips and Dominick Black
Great grandchild: Lindsey Phillips

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday at St Elizabeths Catholic Church with burial following in Roselawn Memorial Park.
