Marilyn Kaye Green
Marilyn Kaye Green, 71, of Salina, KS. passed away Nov. 7, 2013 at home.
She was born in St. John, KS., the daughter of Eugene Sanford Snell and Jennie Irene Snell.
She preceded her husband in death, G. Jack Green. Marilyn and Jack were married in 1961 at the St. John Methodist Church
She graduated Kansas State University with both Masters and Ph.D degrees in 1985.
Marilyn Green was committed to the education of students in our community. She tirelessly served in the capacity of teacher, principal and Executive Director of School Improvement for Salina public Schools. A leader in school reform, Dr. Green was instrumental in increasing expectations for teachers and learners alike.
She is survived by:
Sons: Gary Green; of McPherson, KS., and Dan Green and wife Erin; of Olathe
Grandchildren: Delaney Kaye Green and Avery Marie Green.
An informal open-house/come and go Celebration of Life is planned at Gutierrez Mexican Restaurant on Saturday November 16, 2013 from 12:00-3:00 pm to give friends and colleagues the opportunity to informally celebrate Marilyns life by paying tribute to her, to the life she lived, and the connections she made and left behind.
Guests will have the opportunity to express their feelings and to share their memories by contributing to a memory book for the family
A private family funeral service will be held.
A memorial may be made to the Johnson Cancer Research Center, Kansas State University and may be sent in care of Ryans Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina, KS .
