E. Maxine Sisson Parker, 88, lifelong resident of Wilsey, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Diversacare of Council Grove.

She was born on October 13, 1925, at Wilsey, the daughter of August H. and Florence F. (Bullock) Buckner.

Mrs. Parker was a hairdresser and worked with her daughter Reba Sumner, for 15 years. Her hobbies were quilting, gardening, and tending fruit trees.

She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church at Alta Vista. She graduated from Wilsey Rural High School with the class of 1947.

She married Robert Sisson on May 1, 1953, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1960; and then married Russell Parker on June 8, 1974, and he also preceded her in death. She is also preceded by three brothers: Dale Bruckner (during WWII), Chester Bruckner, Elmer (Rip) Bruckner; and her parents.

She is survived by:
Daughter: Reba Sumner and her husband Clarence of Wilsey
Brother: Billie Bruckner and his wife Barbara of Delavan
Granddaughter: Amber Taylor and her husband Tommy of Lawrence
Grandson: Shelby Sumner of Wilsey
Great granddaughters: Lyndie Mae Taylor and Lilly Nicole Taylor
Sister-in-law: Betty Bruckner of Council Grove

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Wilsey Christian Church, with her son-in-law Pastor Clarence Sumner officiating.

Burial will follow at the Wilsey Cemetery.

The family requests memorials to the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church or the Wilsey Christian Church; and they may be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS 67449-3038.
