Dorotha Wendt, 97, of Inman, Kansas passed away at 6:05 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013 peacefully, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kansas.

Dorotha was born in Wellsford, Kansas on June 28, 1916, the daughter of Mattie Jane (Brockman) and Wesley Andrew Hibler.

Dorotha attended and graduated from Groveland Grade School, Groveland, Kansas.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church McPherson, Kansas where she served her church by helping with weddings, funerals, and was a leader of the Womens Guild for many years.

Dorotha was a homemaker and waitressed at Kellys Cafe and then the McPherson Sale Barn and she helped her husband on the farm and with the livestock.

Dorotha was a member of the Groveland Homemakers Extension Unit; Inman Senior Center, Inman, Kansas. She loved to fish, dance quilt, and spend time with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards. Dorotha was a hard worker and a true farm wife.

Dorotha was united in marriage to Clarence Larson on July 23, 1932 at McPherson, Kansas. He died on May 28. 1953. On October 20, 1954 Dorotha was united in marriage to Oscar Wendt at Windom, Kansas. He died on October 24, 1988.

Surviving family members include her children, Larry Larson and his wife Linda Larson, of Inman, Kansas, Wayne Larson, of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Barbara Becker and her husband Richard, of Pratt, Kansas; her step-daughters, Shirley Smock and her husband John, of Parr, Texas and Carol Hall, of Wichita, Kansas; a sister, Marcedes Stovall, of Pacific, Missouri; her 9 grandchildren; 5 Step-grandchildren; 16 Great-grandchildren; 5 Step great-grandchildren; 6 - great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Dorotha was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Clarence Larson and Oscar Wendt, sisters, Elsie Krooehnig, Pearl Messe, and Marcella Harness.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.

Graveside service will be held at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 with The Reverend Tim Leaf officiating.
