Curtis Algren, 86, of Clay Center, Kansas passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS.

Curtis was born April 29, 1927 in Clay County, to Oscar and Emma
(Fahlstrom) Algren.

Curtis was raised in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1945.

He married Betty Chestnut on May 6, 1951. Betty preceded him in death on January 1, 2007.

Curtis farmed in Clay County his entire life. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lions Club, Swedesburg School Board, Swedish Pleasant Hill Cemetery Board, Farmers CO-OP Elevator Association Board of Directors, and the 21st Judicial District nominating commission.

He is survived by:

Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Kansas with Minister Drew Reding officiating.

Burial will be conducted at Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church or the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.
