Margaret Mary Hall
Margaret Mary Hall, 76, of Salina, Kansas, died October 19, 2013.
Margaret, (Margy), the daughter of Kelly and Marjorie Slaughter, was born October 31, 1936 in Salina, Kansas.
She graduated Salina High School with the Class of 1954 and attended Kansas State University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and the Royal Purple Yearbook Queen.
On June 1, 1957 Margy married her high school sweetheart, James Martin Hall III at First Presbyterian Church, Salina.
Margy loved and nurtured her family, friends, church and community. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Salina, where she was baptized. She served on the Boards of Deacons and Session. She was the Interim Youth Director and chairman of many church committees, including the 150th Anniversary Celebration of First Presbyterian Church in 2010.
Margy gave countless hours to the Salina community. She especially loved the Smoky Hill River Festival where she served many years on the Hospitality Committee. She was involved in her children’s school activities, chairing many fund raisers and enjoyed cheering for her children and grandchildren in all their sporting, musical and artistic endeavors.
She was a 48 year member of Chapter ED, P.E.O. Sisterhood where she served as a two term President as well as other offices. Margy will be remembered for her enthusiastic coordination of years of 4th of July Block Parties near their home on Santa Fe Avenue and the Salina Bicentennial Celebration.
She was a member of Saint John’s Hospital Pediatrics Service League, a supporter of the Salina Art Center, organized the citywide school Steve Hawley Day Celebration and, with her husband, delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Margy was a Sales Associate with Denning Realty, 1979-1982 and was associated with Kansas Wesleyan University Foundation.
During the years from 1986-2002 Margy and James lived in Leawood, Kansas. While there she served as Deacon and Elder at Village Presbyterian Church, and was a member and Past President of Chapter GM, P.E.O. Sisterhood. While living in the Kansas City area Margy met many wonderful friends while volunteering and attending Shawnee Mission East events for Andy and her grandchildren.

Daughter: Mary Beth Hall Simpson and husband Grover of Mission Hills, Kansas,
Sisters: Betsy Scholten and husband Jim of Salina and Dotsy Clifton and Lew Singer of Roanoke, Virginia;
Sister in law: Mary Alice Hall of Topeka, Kansas
Grandchildren: Quint and John Hall, Madeline, Ross and Hank Simpson, Savannah and Wyatt Hall, Finn and Louise Hall
Nieces and Nephews: Margy Hogarty and husband Kelly , Tom Poer and wife Carolyn, Curt Clifton and wife Laura, Mari Clifton Kyle and husband Chris, and Katie Clifton
Cousins: Steve Bressler, Marianne Tucker, Tom Slaughter, Jerry Slaughter, Mary Kelly Johnson, Sallie Slaughter
Nine great nieces and nephews Ethan, Lydia, and Katherine Poer, Jack, Charlie, and Lucy Clifton, William, Abigail and Jonathan Kyle and Harrison and Tallulah Wright
Many special friends, both in Salina and Kansas City.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 23, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, Salina, with Pastor Sue Coller officiating.
The family will gather prior to the service for the inurnment in Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, Kansas.
