Chrissie Ahrens, 95, of Superior, Nebraska passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 in Superior.
Chrissie was born February 12, 1918 in Mankato, Kansas, and was the son of Chris and Hattie (Martin) Ahrens.
Chrissie grew up and attended country school and graduated from Mankato High School. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Superior and was baptized as a teenager in the Republican River.
On September 21, 1937 he was united in marriage to Maybelle Purcell in Phillipsburg, Kansas and to this union two children were born. They raised their family on the farm in Jewell County and lived there until moving to the Vestey Center in September of 2006.
While living in the Holmwood township, Chrissie and Maybelle received the Mankato Chamber of Commerce Farmers Plaque, where one farm family is recognized each year for outstanding service to Extension 4-H and the community. He was a 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher for many years.
Chrissie is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Pearl Langer.

Granddaugher: Chris Johanson and husband Rick and grandson Steve Martin of Superior, NE
Eight great grandchildren
Seven great great grandchildren

Visitation will be held from 1-8p.m. on Sunday with family present to greet friend from 2-5 at Megrue-Price Funeral Home, Superior, NE. Memorial services will also be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Arick Johanson officiating.
