Nathalie "Nan" Mae Simpson, 83, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:15 p.m., Friday, October 11th, while in the company of family members, at Cedars House. Nathalie "Nan" was born in Springfield, Missouri on September 5, 1930, daughter of Eunice V. (Gilbert) and Vernon V. Brown.
Nan attended the Osborne grade schools and graduated from Osborne High School, Osborne, Kansas in 1948. She then attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson, Kansas, where she taught Kindergarten and Sunday School.
Nan was a homemaker and worked for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company prior to working for the National Cooperative Refinery Association as a computer operator until her retirement in 1993.
Nan was a member of the McPherson HDU and American Legion Post 24 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sports both live and on tv, going on walks, reading, sewing, needle point, traveling and sightseeing and spending time with her friends just talking and sharing together.

Jeff "Puck" Simpson and wife Suzi, of Hutchinson, Kansas
Three grandchildren: Michael Dent, of Seoul, South Korea
Mark Dent, of State College, Pennsylvania
Rachel Dent, of Mission, Kansas
Three step-grandchildren: Sara Nyland and husband Terry, of Olathe, Kanas
Russell Bomberger and wife Christy, of Olathe, Kansas
William "Billy" Bomberger and wife Sarah, of Wichita, Kansas
Other relatives and a host of friends
Nan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lois M. Garrison; her brother-in-law, James T. Garrsion.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson.
The funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 with Reverend Quentin Bennett officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Osborne Cemetery Osborne, Kansas with Reverend Harold E. Nelson.
