Lillian  Maxine  Wilson

Lillian Maxine Wilson, 91, Salina, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2013. She was born March 5, 1922 in Hoisington to Harry Edwin and Pearl (Smith) Gage.

She graduated from Hoisington High School in 1940, then attended Ft. Hays State College where she received a lifetime teaching certificate in Music Education. While at Ft. Hays, she was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota sorority. Upon graduation in 1946, she taught music in a two room school house in Kismit.

She married Thomas D. Wilson on June 1, 1948 and resided in Salina where she became a homemaker and gave private music lessons. They had two daughters, Bonnie and Terri.

She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church where she was very active in AAUW and Womens Circle. She was also a member of DAR, Harmony Chapter #2 Order of the Easten Star, and the Salina YWCA.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, a brother, Leonard Gage; a sister, Elva Gage; and a grandson, Lee Lovewell.

She is survived by -
Two daughters: Bonnie Hummel, Broken Arrow, OK
Terri (Arlen) Lovewell, Ashland, ME
Sister: Eunice Coon, Leawood
Grandchildren: Susan Bolyard
Anthony, David, Jamison and Nicholis Hummel
Rustin Lovewell
8 great grandchildren

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday October 12, 2013 at the 1st United Methodist Church, Salina.

Burial will be at 1:00 pm in the Ellsworth City Cemetery, Ellsworth, KS.

Visitation will be at the Ryan Mortuary on Friday from 4 until 8:00 pm where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 pm that evening.

Memorials are suggested to the church.
