Norman LeRoy Smith, the son of Ernest B. and Daisy (Dawson) Smith, was born on December 14, 1936 on a farm near Hollis, Kansas. He passed away on October 9, 2013 in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 76 years, 9 months, 25 days.

Norm attended school through the 8th grade at Hollis, Kansas and graduated in 1955 from the Concordia High School in Concordia, Kansas. He was currently a member of the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Superior.

On June 2, 1956 he was united in marriage to Darlene Comeau and to this union 5 children were born.

During his life Norm held memberships in the Elks, the Eagles, the Knights of Columbus, the Superior Volunteer Fire Department and EMTs and during peacetime a member of the National Guard in Concordia and enjoyed league bowling.

He had a love for woodworking and cabinetry and was a self-employed carpenter. He loved to watch birds and enjoyed his long drives with his dog “Bo”.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ernest and Elvin along with one sister, Velma Smith.
