Dan A. Lindsey-Shelton, age 46, of Manhattan, Kansas, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at his residence. He was born on December 10, 1966, in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Donald Roy and Donna Faye (Mayer) Shelton.

Dan attended Riley, Kansas schools until his sophomore year when the family moved to Manhattan in 1983. He graduated from Manhattan Senior High School in 1985.

Dan was a concrete construction worker where he was a concrete finisher. He worked for a variety of companies during his working career.

His hobbies included collecting Indian arrowhead and Indian artifacts. He also loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors. He also was an avid Chess player and gifted artist in sketching and drawing. He also enjoyed reading. Most of all he loved his two children.

Step-mother: Mary Shelton, Manhattan, KS
Former wife of eighteen years: Marla L. Bosworth, Plattsburg, MO
Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his step-father: Douglas Lindsey.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ben Duerfeldt officiating.

Private burial will be in the Westmoreland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established at Kansas State Bank for the Miles and Molly Shelton Education Fund.
