James Franklin Porter, 82, of Assaria, passed away Friday, September 27th, at Salina Regional Health Center. James was born in Cawthorn, Texas on September 30, 1930,to the late Ida Pearl (Belyeu) and Earl Franklin Porter.

James was an automobile mechanic for Ford for forty-two years. He was also a member of the Good Sams Club.

He was the husband of Rosemarie (Nardi) Porter. They were married on May 1, 1970 in Fairfield, California.

Survivors include -
Wife: Rosemarie
Daughter: Bonita Tillman, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska
Granddaughter: Christina Tillman, of Scottsdale, Arizona
Sister: Mary E. Gilbert, of Mapleton, Oregon
Half sister: Elsie Wilkes, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Brother: Wilfred Riley Porter, of Merlin, Oregon

He was preceded in death by his parents, and half brother, Bill Vantine

A memorial service will be held at Assaria Lutheran Church, Assaria, Kansas, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1st, with Pastor Brian Bauer officiating.

A reception will follow directly after the service at the church.

Cremation has been chosen and at the familys request there will be no visitation.
