Mary Loewen, 92, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2013, peacefully, at Loving Care of McPherson.
Mary was born in Olpe, Kansas on May 22, 1921, the daughter of Nettie C. (Snider) and Jake E. Haag.

Mary attended the Olpe grade schools and graduated from Olpe High School, Olpe, Kansas. She then attended Venus Cosmetology College, Wichita, Kansas in 1941.

Mary was a member of First Baptist Church McPherson, Kansas.

Mary was a Cosmetologist for 10 years at Daisys Beauty Shop in McPherson, was a homemaker while the children were at home, and then was a Dietary Aid at Memorial Hospital McPherson, Kansas for 23 years before retiring.

Mary enjoyed working, yard work, traveling and spending time with the grandkids.

Mary Ida Haag was united in marriage to Wilferd "Bill" Loewen on April 24, 1949 at McPherson, Kansas. Bill died on January 13, 2013.

She is survived by -
Daughter: Glenna Balsick, of McPherson, Kansas
Brother: Harold Haag, of Emporia, Kansas
Sister: Jeanette Gunkle and her husband Earl, of Stockton, California
3 granddaughters: Jenna Balsick, of McPherson, Kansas
Sydney Hunt and her husband Jason, of McPherson, Kansas
Kristen Jukes, of Kansas City, Missouri
Many nieces and nephews
Other relatives and a host of friends

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Jolene Loewen (stillborn) and Janice Jukes; her son-in-law, Steven Jukes; her brothers, James, Jerome, Gilbert, and Ralph Haag; and sisters, Luellen Haag and Mildred McCue.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson, Kansas.

The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013 with Pastor Terry Tareila officiating.

Final Resting Place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
