Obituary

Funeral services for Iva A. Stoker Collins, age 93, of Abilene will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the St. Johns Episcopal Church in Abilene with Father Jerry Rankin and Pastor Donald Goodwin officiating.

Mrs. Collins passed away Tuesday, August 06, 2013 at the Village Manor Nursing Home in Abilene.

She was born December 30, 1919 in Sterling, Colorado the daughter of James W. and Ginevra (Bogart) Dawson.

Iva was a longtime Abilene resident and was the manager of the Forrester Hotel. Along with running the hotel she was a provided care for her brothers, sisters, parents and her son. She was a member of the United Brethren Church and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

In 1936 she married Charles Robert Stoker in Abilene. They later divorced. She then married Gordon Collins on June 4, 1949 in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He also preceded her in death.

Iva is survived by -
Son: Larry and his wife Eua Ja Stoker of Abilene
Sisters: Marie Orender of Topeka, Kansas
Erma Jean Harsch of Eugene, Oregon
5 grandchildren
13 great grandchildren
2 great great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husbands, son Fletcher Stoker, brothers Elvin, Fletcher and Harry Dawson, sisters Ellen Ducker, Pauline Annis, Geraldine Walters, and her parents.

Ivas final resting place will be in the Abilene Cemetery.

The family of Iva will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ivas memory to Hospice of Dickinson County or to the United Brethren in Christ Church and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home 414, NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
