John Michael Finkbiner
John Michael Finkbiner, 66, of Salina, died Monday, July 29, 2013, due to complications from pneumonia after fighting a long illness. He was born December 29, 1946, in Clifton, Kansas, to Elmer and Margaret (Long) Finkbiner.
John was preceded in passing by his parents, sister, JoAnne DesCoteaux; and brother, Robert Finkbiner.
John is survived by -
Loving wife of 31 years: Mary Finkbiner, of Salina
Daughters: Shelly Bennett, of Sandy, Utah
Debbie Babcock, of Lincoln
Step-daughter: Angela Johnson
Step-son: Paul Nunemaker, both of Salina
Sisters: Marjorie Pfister, of Manhattan
Carol Dauksch: of Wichita
Brothers: Elmer and Carl Finkbiner, both of Clifton
John worked for Raytheon for nearly forty years before retiring. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed Kansas City Chiefs football, trips to Las Vegas, and the latest technology gadgets.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina.
Memorials may be made to Harden Hospice for the compassionate care John received and can be mailed to Ryan Mortuary.
