Edward E. McCollough
Edward E. “Swede” McCollough, 91 of Abilene, Kansas passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Village Manor in Abilene. He was born March 8, 1922 in Abilene, the son of Fredrick and Mary Teresa (Hinchon) McCollough.
After graduating from Abilene High School, Edward went on to join the Marines. He served 4 years in the Marine Corp, serving in Iwo Jima and the Volcano Islands.
On April 28, 1943 he was united in marriage to Agnes Clara DeWendt in Abilene. She preceded him in death December 21, 2011.
Ed worked 20 plus years for the Civil Services as a meat cutter. He also worked for the Abilene Police Force, Schillings Civil Service Commissioner in Salina and Viola Groceries. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the VFW.

Daughter: Patricia Loux of Salina, Kansas
Two sons: John McCollough and wife Pat of Temecula, California
Michael McCollough and wife Linda of Sullivan, Missouri
3 grandchildren: James, Terry and Victoria Blair
One step-granddaughter: Trena Lackey of Salina
Numerous great-great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, John McCollough and a sister, Eugenia Burk.
Mass of Christian Burial for Edward will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 29, 2013 at the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Abilene with Father Henry Baxa as Celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery in Abilene.
Parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. Sunday evening with the family receiving friends from 7-8.
