Obituary

Neil W. Wieters, Age 84, passed away Friday, June 28th, in Abilene. He was born December 11, 1928 at Barnes, Kansas, the son of Herman and Frieda (Glatz) Wieters.

Growing up in the Linn, Kansas community he attended local schools and graduated from East High School in Wichita with the class of 1946. In 1956 he and his brother Lowell purchased the Wieters Produce in Industry which they operated until 1974. In 1970, they built and operated the Robo Car Wash and operated it until 1978.

On September 2, 1956, he married Neva Hanson. He was preceded in death by Neva July 3, 1974. On February 1, 1975, he married Beverly Enyart. All of their married life was spent in Abilene where they owned and operated Wieters Bros. Distributors from 1981 until retiring in 1993. Beverly preceded him in death March 3, 2013.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Lohmeyer and 4 brothers, Lowell, Melvin, LaVern and Ralph.

He was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 2nd, at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Justin Panzer officiating.

Interment will follow in the Greenridge Cemetery, Industry.

The family will receive friends 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. Monday, July 1st, at the Danner Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be given to the Faith Lutheran Church. They may be left at the church the day of the service or left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
