Nominations Sought For Citizenship Award

The Greater Salina Community Foundation is seeking nominations for the Salina Award for Outstanding Citizenship.

This annual award is given based on the following criteria:
1. The award will be given to an individual who has made during his or her lifetime, a significant voluntary contribution(s) to the welfare or betterment of the community.
2. The individual will have provided leadership, contributions or service that led to significant accomplishment and ultimately made a real difference in the City of Salina.
3. The recipient(s) of the award does not have to be a resident of the City of Salina, but the work for which they are recognized must benefit the City of Salina and/or its residents.

Nominations for this year’s award are being accepted by the Foundation until April 10, 2015. Information and nomination forms are available on the Foundation’s web site at www.gscf.org under the “Impact & Initiative” menu item or by calling the Foundation office at 785-823-1800. Any person or organization in the community can submit a nomination. Nominees can be of any age. The award includes a prize of up to $1,000.

The citizenship award will be presented at a luncheon sponsored by the Foundation and open to the community on May 19, 2015 at the Salina Country Club. The Luncheon will also serve as the announcement event for Greater Salina Community Foundation grants, scholarships and programs.
