A Salina convenience store sustained minor damage after an SUV did not stop and rammed into the side of the building on Thursday afternoon.

No one was hurt in the accident at Kwik Shop, 1727 W. Crawford. The damage to the building includes a completely destroyed large concrete pillar, concrete trash can and very minor cracks and chips in the side of the building’s brick exterior.

Mandy Odle, was the driver of the green GMC SUV that ran into the building. She says that she had meant to stop, however she claims that the breaks did not engage.

The SUV sustained damage to the front of it, which appeared to be dented back from the impact of striking the concrete pillar.

Police told KSAL News on scene that there was no structural damage to the building, but they are still investigating the cause of the accident.
