Salina Police will be out in full force Friday evening looking for seat belt violations.

Lt. Russ Lamer tells KSAL News that four officers and one spotter will be patrolling  from 9pm to 1am Friday, looking for occupants who are not buckled up.

Citations for unrestrained adults are $10 while the citation for children under 18-years old who are not buckled up is $60 plus court costs.

Officers will also be on the look out for impaired drivers, and will be spread throughout various areas of the city.

Our message to the police there will be 30 of us driving around not using our seatbelts catch us if you can. Maybe by the next time you do this we will have over a 100 drivers driving without seatbelts. Our goal is to get more cops wasting their time on this and as little time enforcing real laws and solving cases. One day salina pd we hope will be amazed at the number we can send out there when they do this.
