New Salina Mental Health Service Debuts

Officials Monday afternoon celebrated a new service at a Salina organization that provides mental health services. Dignitaries, including a U.S. Congressman, a state senator, and two state representatives, gathered at Central Kansas Mental Health Center to celebrate the opening of an on-site pharmacy at the Salina facility.

The new pharmacy essentially puts all services under the same roof. Giving patients the ability to obtain medication on-site will be a big asset for the community. Advantages include helping patients better manage their medication, and dosages. It will also be much more convenient for patients who use public transportation.

Among those attending the celebration, and touring the facility Monday, were Congressman Tim Huelskamp, State Senator Tom Arpke, and State Representatives J.R. Claeys and Diana Dierks.

Central Kansas Mental Health Center helps people of all ages – children, teens, adults – find new, more effective ways to deal with the challenges and problems everyone encounters at various times in life.

Adults often seek assistance with anxiety, loss and grief, depression, relationship difficulties, or parenting challenges, to name just a few. Children and teens may need help with depression, school problems, Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder, acting-out behaviors, and more.

Central Kansas Mental Health Center also provides treatment for severe and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia.
