New President At Salina Sunflower Bank

A new Salina Sunflower Bank President is in place.

According to the organization, Steve Johnson has joined Sunflower Bank as Salina’s Market President. In this capacity, Johnson will continue to expand Sunflower Bank’s commercial relationships in the Salina area and will oversee the market’s growth strategy for consumer and small business, mortgage banking, wealth management and retail deposits.

“We’re happy to have Steve on board with Sunflower,” said Mollie Carter, president and CEO of Sunflower Bank. “He has demonstrated success in helping businesses reach their financial goals in many Kansas markets, including Salina. He’s a huge asset as Sunflower moves forward.”

Johnson has 33 years of experience in the banking industry, spending most of his career lending and leading teams of loan officers. Most recently, he served as senior lender for American State Bank in Great Bend, and prior to that he served as chief lending manager for Security Savings Bank and was responsible for the Wichita, Salina and Kansas City markets.

Johnson is a graduate of Kansas University and The Graduate School of Banking at Colorado.
