Nearly $5k in Items Stolen from Home

Salina Police are investigating a residential burglary.

According to Police Captain Mike Sweeney, Bobby Smith came home Wednesday evening to discover his back door damaged and numerous items in a jewelry collection missing.

Police say someone entered the house in the 300 block of North Kansas sometime between 8:45am and 6pm, and stole five pearl and gold necklaces, four gold rings, three gold bracelets and $500 in two-dollar bills.

Burglars also stole $50 silver certificates, antique coins, 2 knives and a pocket watch.

Total loss and damage is estimated at $5,150.
