Mother seeks justice for 4-year-old who died in May

The mother of a 4-year-old girl killed in Kansas City, Kansas, questions the months it took authorities to rule the child’s death a homicide.

The child, Honesty Sanders, died in June and was the apparent victim of child abuse. No charges have been announced.

Kansas City, Kansas, officers were called May 27 and found Honesty unconscious on the floor of an apartment. She was taken to a hospital, where she died about a week later.

Her death was recently ruled a homicide.

The child’s mother, Maya Price, told The Kansas City Star (http://j.mp/2g2ssiK) she wants to know why it took months for the homicide determination. Police said they were awaiting the final autopsy report.
