More Guns Recovered

Salina Police have located a gun they believe is linked to a shooting outside the Chapel Ridge Apartments on May 12th.

Police say a .40 caliber Glock handgun was found in a field near the complex. Last Sunday night a man was shot in the groin after a disturbance inside an apartment. Police are still searching for a known suspect in the case.

Another weapon connected to the massive theft of 118 guns from Cleve’s Marine & Sporting Goods Store in early April has been found at a house, where a standoff ended peacfully on May 5th.

Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that a .380 Ruger pistol was located at 619 N. 13th and traced back to property taken from Cleve’s. Police say 29-year-old Adam Humphrey and 25-year-old Heather Davis will likely face additional charges for possession of stolen property.

Police report they have now recoverd over 80 of the 118 stolen guns.

Twenty-seven-year-old Gregory Walburn and 32-year-old Matthew Hewitt, both of Salina are facing charges in that burglary.
