Mile High Purchase Confiscated Near Salina

A Virginia couple is arrested after a K-9 unit finds edible marijuana products in their vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that Thursday night at 8:45pm, Deputy Craig Norris made a routine stop on I-70 about 4-mile east of Salina.

Norris followed a 2013 Toyota Corolla that was traveling eastbound in the passing lane and did not move over. The officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana in the car and the drug sniffing dog was brought in.

Deputies found numerous edible pot products packaged up, like energy bars, brownies and mint chocolates that had been purchased in Denver. Jayme L. Lambert, 24 and Abdul Rahman, 25 both of Virginia are now facing charges that include possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Sheriff Kochanowski tells KSAL News that they continue to see marijuana products coming out of the Denver metro area, “This is a growing problem here and in the neighboring states that border Colorado.”
