Manhattan Man Still Missing

On Tuesday regarding the investigation into missing person David Welch, the Riley County Police Department conducted a search of areas both in and outside of their jurisdiction.

Twenty law enforcement personnel, including several members of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks spent the day conducting searches of areas that would be accessible to Welch.

These searches did not turn up any evidence that would suggest the location of Welch.

At this time there is no information leading investigators to believe that he may be the victim of foul play.

“But he is a person that is considered missing and we’d like to know more about where he’s at,” said officer Droge with the Riley County Police Department.

Those with information about or know the whereabouts of David Welch are encouraged to contact the Riley County Police Department (785-537-2112) or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers (785-539-7777). Members of the public choosing to utilize the Crime Stoppers service can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

“It’s just an odd occurrence that we’d like to find a successful conclusion to,” said Droge.
