Man Steals Money from Neighborhood Cars

A Gypsum woman had quite the scare when she woke up to her dog barking at 4:30 yesterday morning. The resident, who lives on the 700 block of King Street in Gypsum, looked out her window to see a male suspect outside her neighbor’s car. The suspect took off running quickly thereafter.

In the morning, she discovered her garage door was unlocked, and $23 was stolen out of her console of her 1999 Chevrolet pickup that was parked in the garage. When she talked to her neighbor about the mysterious man, the neighbor found that about $20 worth of quarters, nickels and dimes were stolen. The pennies were left behind.

No suspect description has been offered yet, other than the Sheriff’s Office says they believe it is a man.
