Man Stabbed in Attack

A Salina man is beaten and robbed.

According to Police Captain Mike Sweeney, a 29-year-old man told officers he was walking  home in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day when he was attacked by four males.

The victim told police the attack began around 1:20am after he passed the group on Republic near Vassar. The three white males and one black male allegedly punched and kicked the man until he lost consciousness.

The victim told officers he then got up to fight back when he felt someone stab him in the stomach.

EMS transported the man to the hospital where he was treated for a shallow cut on his stomach, bruises over his right eye and scrapes on his face.

Police say the suspects stole $20 cash, earbud headphones and a winter coat.
