Man Killed In Hutchinson Police Shooting

A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to probation for growing psychedelic mushrooms at a Hutchinson business.
A 22-year-old man was killed in an officer involved shooting in Hutchinson early Tuesday morning.
According to Hutchinson Police, at about 12:53am officers were dispatched to 811 N. Van Buren regarding a “trouble with subject” call. The reporting party claimed that the subject confessed to committing a murder and had been armed with a knife.
As officers responded, they were confronted with an irate subject in the residence along with three small children. The subject made threats of harm against the officers. The subject began breaking windows out of the residence from inside.
The officers became concerned for the welfare of the children and as they removed the children from the residence, the subject threw objects at the officers including a knife. Officers fired shots from their patrol rifles, hitting and killing the suspect.
The man is identified as 22-year-old Jonathan Wilson.
An investigation into this officer involved shooting is being led by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
