Man Killed in Farming Accident

A man has been killed in an eastern Kansas farming accident.

According to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 9:00 Saturday morning dispatch received a 911 call of a man trapped under a tractor. When first responders arrived to the scene the driver Hayden Croucher was trapped under the rolled over tractor at the time of the call and was free from the tractor when officers arrived on scene. Gary Croucher, a passenger on the tractor, was able to get Hayden Croucher free. Gary and Hayden Croucher refused medical treatment.

Layton Long, a second passenger on the tractor, was thrown from the tractor and was unresponsive. Gary and Hayden Croucher had begun CPR on Layton Long. Long was transported to a Topeka hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this farm accident.
