A warrant request by police leads to the arrest of a Salina man.

According to Captain Mike Sweeney, 59-year-old David J. McDowell was arrested on charges of aggravated battery that links back to a January incident at Salina Regional Health Center.

Police say while McDowell was a patient at the hospital, he struck a female nurse in the head almost knocking her unconscious – and also punched another female nurse who was in the room.

The arrest came after the charge was upgraded from battery to aggravated battery.
