Man Jailed for Battery, Criminal Threats

Police track down and arrest a man wanted for battering a female acquaintance.

Officers arrested 33-year-old Brion C. Jefferson on Wednesday night after he jumped out of a vehicle parked in the 600 block of S. Ohio and ran.

Jefferson was wanted on a warrant for an incident on May 8th for allegedly striking a woman and then taking her cell phone.

Police say he gave false information to an officer on patrol – and then jumped out of a Ford Fusion and ran away.

About an hour later officers found Jefferson hiding in a house at 118 N Front and took him into custody.

He is now facing charges of domestic battery, aggravated robbery and criminal threat for texting a threatening message to the female victim.
