A Wichita man was injured after his van hit a deer on Interstate-135 near Assaria on Monday night.

Saline County Sheriff’s Deputies report that just before 11pm, 22-year-old Adewunmi Adekokoya was driving a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan southbound and swerved to try and miss a deer on the road.

The van slammed into the deer and then rolled.

Adekokoya was treated at the scene by EMS for a cut on his hand.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office says the van, which is owned by Medwise Services LLC of Wichita, was heavily damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
