George Logan Meinhardt, 33, of Salina was arrested on Monday in connection to a high speed chase on April 1.

Meinhardt fled police after an officer recognized him driving a dark blue Ford Rausch mustang as a suspended driver. The chase began near Ninth St. and South Broadway and escalated southbound as Meinhardt pulled into the Central Mall parking lot at 5:20 p.m.

As he pulled into the mall, Meinhardt then veered across traffic and sped southbound on Ninth eluding police. Citizens would call Salina police notifying them Meinhardt’s vehicle later in the day was parked at Hong Kong Buffet, but he was not brought into custody.

Capt. Chris Trocheck tells KSAL news that Meinhardt was arrested at a home in the 600 block of West Cloud. While being booked into Saline County Jail, 4.1 grams of methamphetamine was found in his possession.

Meinhardt faces multiple charges including driving while suspended, reckless driving, fleeing/eluding an officer and possession of stimulant.
