KSAL Staff - December 1, 2014 11:37 am

A Salina man was arrested after police caught him leaving the scene of a crime.

A resident called Police at around 2:30 in the morning on Friday after hearing someone in his garage at 685 South 3rd Street. Police Captain Mike Sweeney tell KSAL News that the first officers on the scene observed two people exiting the garage. They were able to catch one of them, 33-year-old John Thompson.

Sweeney says that as Thompson was being taken into custody he fought with officers. He was arrested on charges that could include aggravated burglary, resisting arrest, and assault of a law enforcement officer.

The other person is still being sought.
