Man Caught after $3,839 in Tools, Electronics Pawned

A Salina man is jailed after pawning items stolen from a home where he was staying.

Police arrested 27-year-old Evan Peryer on Thursday after an investigation revealed he had, over the course of two months, removed numerous items from a house and traded them for cash at several local pawn shops.

Police say Peryer removed jewelry, electronics, and tools from a home in the 1800 block of Christy.

The items are valued at over $3,800.

The man is now facing charges that include felony theft, theft by deception and making a false writing.
