Salina Police are investigating a weekend aggravated battery.

According to police, a 29-year-old man was talking to an acquaintance at around 1:20 in the morning Saturday, in the 100 Block of N Santa Fe. The man says that someone who he does not know came up and punched him in the face.

The victim was treated at Salina Regional Health Center for a broken cheek bone and a chipped tooth. His lower lip also needed stitches.

An investigation continues into the incident.
