Man Accused of Child Sex Crimes

KSAL Staff - December 13, 2016 10:41 am

A Salina man is cited for public nudity at a spray park. Officers were called to the spray park near the Friendship Center at 746 Comanche on Monday afternoon around 1:15pm. Witnesses told police, 43-year-old Tommy Tripp had taken his pants off in front of some children and adults who were present, and was in a state of arousal in his underwear and shirt. A city ordinance prohibits the discernible display of male genitalia in a turgid state. Tripp was served a notice to appear for public nudity.

A Salina man is facing multiple charges in connection to sex crimes involving a child.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney says that 34-year-old Steven Snyder was arrested on Monday. Snyder is accused of crimes involving a preteen girl that date back to 2014.

Allegedly, he sexually assaulted the victim back in the summer of 2014. He is accused of pulling her into a room against her will and sexually assaulting her.

The victim told her mother on November 30th what had happened, and the mother then contacted police.

Snyder could face charges that include three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, and kidnapping.
