Two men from Great Bend were maced and one was hit with a baseball bat in an attack that happened in the parking lot of the Lonestar Convenience Store at 100N. Broadway.

Police say on Saturday morning around 10:15am, 74-year-old Earl Adams and 60-year-old Louie Philbern were assaulted by a group of people who drove up in two trucks along side their vehicle – jumped out with mace and baseball bats.

Witnesses called police.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that both men have been less than cooperative with providing any details about the incident.

The men had minor injuries but refused treatment from EMS at the scene.
